Opening lodge outdoors is an experience every Mason should have. It causes me to consider how our ancient operative forebears may have met - on hilltops or dells, where cowens or eavesdroppers can be easily detected.The brothers of Sharon Lodge in Willmar conducted an outdoor lodge on the shores of Mary Lake near New London on Wednesday. I must confess that I was distracted by the red wing blackbirds singing and the pelicans flying overhead. But the work was terrific, there were many visiting brothers and Master Bill Bannon gave a terrific talk on outdoor lodges.
